ALEX EALES – THEATRE DESIGN
Alex trained at Wimbledon School of Art, graduating in 1997. He works extensively in the UK, US and mainland Europe, especially designing new writing and ‘Live Cinema’ work.
Recently he has worked at the National Theatre, Donmar, Almeida and the Royal Court theatres in London. He has designed operas in the US, Germany, Denmark, France, Norway and Switzerland and in 2016 designed sets for Verdi’s Falstaff in Shanghai (Chinese premiere). In 2018 he designed one of the first new commissions for Tanzteater Wuppertal – Pina Bausch since 2009 with renowned Norwegian choreographer Alan Lucien Øyen.
Alex is based in London, working at the multi-disciplinary studios 401 ½ Studios in Stockwell. He continues to design for dance, theatre and opera.
